Hello Family!!! It is heartwarming to share with you another exciting training experience.

Just as planned, the SELL Facilitators Training for the Navrongo/Bolgatanga Zone took place from the Wednesday 15th –Sunday, 19th February,2017. The training was held at the farmers Training Center, Pusu Namongo – Bolgatanga in the Upper East region of Ghana.

Forty (40) young adults came from different communities within the Region to undergo the training on the Self – Awareness Unit of the SELL Programme. Having experienced the programme as participants in their local communities, they were enthusiastic, determined and happy for the opportunity to be trained as facilitators to go back into their communities to share with others (peers) on issues which would help individuals in their personal development and by extension promote community development.

The training sessions helped participants to explore and share together the values and roles of a facilitator, new learning methods, ways to build personal and interpersonal relationships using the JOHARIS Window and the Transactional Analysis on PAC, the man Paulo Freire and his ideologies, how to work effectively as teams and many others.

The Volunteers from the Navrongo /Bolgatanga Zone over the next few months, like their colleagues in Tamale will work in teams to deliver workshops in their local communities with the support of one Resource Team member.

We are grateful to the young adult for committing themselves to this course and we are excited about the increasing extension in the SELL Family with the addition of the Navrongo/Bolgatanga Zone of Volunteers
To our benefactors and friends of the SELL Programme, God bless you for all the support you have been giving us in diverse ways. You have made this possible. To all the SELL Trainees, we wish you well and hope to meet you at your communities for the workshops.

SELL VOLUNTEERS TRAINING IN TAMALE

Hello Friends!!!

Greetings from us all at the SELL Resource Room. We hope that all is well at your end.
It is always a pleasure to keep you informed of all the activities we are undertaking at the SELL Resource Room and at the local communities and as always we appreciate your support.

The SELL Resource Team had their first SELL Volunteers Facilitators Training from 25th January to 29th January, 2017 at the Youth Centre in Tamale, the capital of the Northern Region of Ghana. The aim of the training was to equip some young adults in Tamale and beyond with the knowledge and skills needed to step down the SELL programme in their local communities. This is to help widen the outreach of the Programme to many young adults providing the platform for discussions on some critical issues of life.

The whole Team comprising of Tommy, Vincent, Hagar and Leo were there to guide and facilitate the training Programme. It was wonderful to see 48 young adults coming in on the first day to sign up for the Programme and as the programme unfolded in the following days they once again signed  commitment forms stating their desire to roll out the SELL Programme in their local communities.

New methods of learning and sharing wisdom were exchanged and people found themselves deepening their self-knowledge, growing in appreciation of others and working and learning to work in teams. After the introductory sessions, we focused on the SELF AWARENESS UNIT of the SELL Programme, which was the target of this particular training and explored it together. It was a great time of shared learning as we learnt from one another. Participants in their evaluation at the end of the programme expressed their enthusiasm to take the programme into their communities.

The Resource Team is very grateful to all the young adults who came for the training and have taken up the responsibility of promoting the programme, helping other young people develop themselves and building peaceful communities. We wish them well in the step that they have taken and we assure them of our support as we will be visiting them during their workshops to mentor them and help them build up their confidence.  We also appreciate the support of all our benefactors as well as all the people who support us in diverse ways. God bless you all. As we celebrate the success of the training programme in Tamale, we look forward to the upcoming Training for Upper East Region which takes place from 15th February -19th February, 2017. We hope the learning and experience will even be better.
Stay Blessed!
