Let me start by appreciating all those that made it to come for the Annual General Reflection (AGR) of the Sharing Education and Learning for Life (SELL), Foundation. You all made it a worthwhile experience, of course we appreciate too those who couldn’t make it to attend, those that took part in it represented your team and your voices were heard through them.

This year’s AGR had a composition of the following people in attendance; Six SELL Facilitators from the various SELL Communities (Shendam, Jos, Bauchi, Yola, Maiduguri and Jalingo), 4 members of the SELL Resource Team, a representative of Saint Patrick’s Society (SPS) and representatives from the SELL Satellite Teams (Abuja and Minna), all making a total of 40 persons.

The AGR was guided by the following agenda;

Bonding exercise – which was on the different personality traits.

The input for the AGR, titled; Foundation Stones for facilitation.

Appraisal of the community teams for the training and workshops done so far.

Other points that formed the agenda during the AGR were;

The Recap of the last AGR, otherwise known as minutes.

The presentation of the Hausa SELL coordinator, the Hausa Manual and the discussions on the modality of the forthcoming Hausa training.

Another part of the AGR that was very interesting was the business meeting, this took a whole day. The successes of the Foundation, the challenges experienced, looking into the future of SELL as  an organization as well as the issues around partnership and update from the various communities made the AGR a very stupendous experience.

I will not end this blog without sharing with you that there was a social time together. It was really fun and a nice way to ease up the stress through dance, music and listening to jokes.

Before I forget this, the AGR took place at the Sacred Heart Pastoral Centre in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria on the 23rd – 26th April, 2015.

Did I leave anything, yes, the pictures, all the pictures can be viewed on our Facebook page, just a few are shared with you on this blog page. Therefore, I encourage you to like our Facebook page and send us a friend’s request.

Next week you shall read on the two workshops that will happen this weekend; the first with Student of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi and the Second will be with Youth of Wuntin Dada and Guru Communities of Bauchi Town. The former is titled 5 core Keys for effective leadership and the latter is SELL Programme with singles.

See you again soon.

Maria,
