Celebrating World Earth Day

Sharing Education and Learning for Life (SELL) Programme Malawi had a series of events that took place in the month of April as follows: Celebrating World Earth Day On the 22nd of April, Ungweru organization celebrated world earth day through a clean-up campaign at Luwinga in Mzuzu. The clean-up campaign was an act of reminder to everyone that our small actions can make a big impact in taking care of the earth. The exercise was led by the executive director of Ungweru Organization Sam Phiri, joined by the Ungweru staff, United Nations Volunteers from Mzuzu University and students of Lusekelo school of computing. Step-down Workshop in Mzimba Community On the 21st to 23rd of April the SELL Programme Malawi visited Mzimba community for a workshop on the leadership unit. Isaac and Leo were the two Resource Persons that represented Sell Programme Malawi at Mzimba community, and the team was very impressed with how organized the facilitators were in Mzimba and how they engaged with the participants. Step down workshop in Zolozolo Community On the 28th of April, three resource team personnel, Leo, Taonga and Isaac visited Zolozolo community for a step down workshop on leadership. The workshop comprised of participants from Chasefu community and Zolozolo community itself. Again there was an opportunity to mentor the two teams of trainee facilitators from both communities.
