YOUTHS OF ARMY BARRACKS IN BAUCHI EXPERIENCED THE WISDOM OF TRADITIONS UNIT OF THE SELL PROGRAMME.

25 Young Adults from the Army Barracks in Bauchi participated in the Wisdom of Traditions unit of the SELL Programme. The programme took place on the 6th and 7th July 2012. The SELL Programme has gone to the Army Barracks up to 6 times, most of the participants were happy because they have completed the 6 units of the SELL Programme.

From the participants’ evaluation, some of them said that what they have learnt will forever be indelible in them.  Mary and I facilitated the Programme and congratulated them for their active participation in all the SELL programmes.

SELL PROGRAMME WITH THE FRIENDS OF ST. PATRICKS LAGOS

On the 13th – 15th July 2012, Jonathan a member of the SELL Resource Team and Grace of the SELL Team in Jos worked with the Friends of St. Patricks Lagos Branch, Nigeria.  During the SELL Programme, 20 people participated.

Areas Jonathan and Grace covered with the participants included; Clarification of their Mission and Vision; Analysis of their Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats.

The venue for the Programme was at the St. Patrick’s Missionary Society Formation House Ijebu – Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria. The SELL Programme has always received invitation to work with the friends of St. Patrick’s and it has always being our pleasure to deliver the programme for them.

PEACE BUILDING PROGRAMME IN KABBA.

While the programme at Ijebu-Ode was going on, another SELL Programme was running concurrently in a town which the natives call ‘the centre of the universe’, Kabba, Kogi State, Nigeria. The Programme was on the Peace Building unit of the SELL, and the facilitators were; Taiye a member of the SELL Team in kabba and Fr. Donatus. The programme was a huge success and it recorded 68 participants.

20 PERSONS TOOK THE WISDOM OF TRADITIONS UNIT OF THE SELL PROGRAMME AT RAILWAY IN BAUCHI.

On the same weekend of 13th and 14th July 2012, Mary, Hilary and I went to railway community in Bauchi and delivered the wisdom of traditions unit for a group of youths in that community, It was a weekend worthwhile because the participants shared with each other about their faith stories especially during their small group works.

The workshop recorded 20 participants. We hope to visit Railway community again soon to complete the six units of the programme for this first round.

UPCOMING PROGRAMME

Mary and Jonathan of the SELL Resource Team are preparing in earnest for the SELL facilitators training in Ghana. About 20 young adults are being trained as facilitators of the SELL Programme in Kumasi, Ghana. The units the trainees are going to receive training on are the Community Building and Justice units of the SELL Programme. The programme is for 1st – 9th August 2012.

We wish Jonathan and Mary safe journey to and fro Ghana and also good luck with all the work.

Stay blessed!!!
