SELL PROGRAMMES IN JUNE 2012

TRANSITION YEAR STUDENTS OF A SECONDARY SCHOOL IN BAUCHI EXPERIENCED THE SELL PROGRAMME.

On the 21st June 2012, five members of the SELL Resource a (Mary, Jonathan, Hilary, Moses and I) went to a Secondary School in Bauchi to work with the Transition Year (Junior Secondary 3) Students. Some of the exercises that were done with the students were on; Trust; Relationship and Friendship; Education on their Rights as Students and on their Sexual Health. Students that took part at the programme were 83 in number.

THE JUSTICE UNIT OF THE SELL PROGRAMME DELIVERED AT RAFIN ZURFI COMMUNITY

Mary, Hilary and Jacob took the SELL Programme to Rafin Zurfi Community in Bauchi metropolis, Bauchi state Nigeria. The programme held on the 22nd -23rd June 2012, the unit of the SELL Programme that was delivered was the Justice unit. 28 young adults comprising of 8 ladies and 18 young men were in attendance. That was the first time that the youths of that community met the SELL Programme, they found it very enriching and requested that the SELL team come again soon.

THREE SELL UNITS GOT DELIVERED IN A ROW

A SELL interactive forum took place at the St. Patricks Formation House in Ijebu –Ode in Ogun State, Nigeria.  The programme started on the 24th June 2012 and ended on the 1st July 2012. Participants at the forum were some young adults who came from Ijebu - ode town and from Bomadi town, Delta state, Nigeria. Others who attended the forum were students of the Formation house, all numbering 41. Three units of the SELL Programme (Peace Building, Community Building, and Justice) were explored. Tommy and Jonathan lead the forum.

TWO SELL PROGRAMMES HELD SIMULTANEOUSLY ON THE 29TH – 30TH JUNE 2012.

Two SELL Programmes held simultaneously on the 29th – 30th June 2012. One of the programmes was in Jos, the capital of Plateau State and the other in Jalingo, Taraba State, Nigeria. The facilitators in Jos were Hilda, Alex, Grace and Beji while in Jalingo; Freda, Victor, Dominic and Stanley anchored the Programme. In Jalingo, 24 young adults attended the programme and the discussion was on leadership. The workshop in Jos recorded over 40 participants.
