After the Election

Nigeria decides; this was done by voting during the just concluded national elections. The elections has come and gone, new leaders have emerged at the Federal and State levels of government in Nigeria. We wish to commend Civil Society Organizations, Individuals, Religious bodies and Government agencies for preaching peace during the election period. SELL was not left out in this, we had daily peace messages on our Facebook page and the biggest was the voice over that was shared to our phone contacts on peace during elections. Here are the words of the voice over;

 “Hello young people of Nigeria, its election time again, all eligible voters should endeavor to come out and vote for credible leaders. In the same vien, let us remember that there is no alternative to peace, therefore, we should make it our collective responsibility to be agents of peace at all course. We look forward to free, fair and peaceful election. This message is from the Sharing Education and Learning for Life Foundation, an NGO that runs Peace Building Programme for young Adults, we are located at Youth Formation Centre, New GRA in Bauchi State Nigeria.”

It may interest you to know that more than 1000 young people listened to this and many called to commend the Foundation for this beautiful message of peace.

SELL Foundation congratulates the President Elect of Nigeria, General Mohammad Buhari (Rtd) and other elected office holders.

The Foundation also appreciates in a special way, the outgoing President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for conceding to defeat even before the final results of the election was announced. President Goodluck called the President elect to congratulate him. This act alone saved so many Nigerians from losing their lives and Property. So many Nigerians and some International communities have seen heroism in that act. Jonathan will always say; ‘my ambition is not worth the life of any Nigerian’. This made the election process on a greater percentage a Peaceful one.

It was good sharing a little on the Nigerian elections 2015 with you, hope you enjoyed it.

Our next blog will be the breakdown of our recent past workshops in SELL; I look forward to sharing that with you soon.

Thanks for staying with us.
