Compliments of the Season from SELL

12/12/2010

Hi dear esteemed reader and Compliments of the season to you. The spirit of celebration is all over in the air, just recently we celebrated Sallah with our Muslim sisters and brothers and very soon we will be celebrating Christmas. We wish the Christian community a happy celebration.

Today’s blog will be the last for the year, this is so because our office is officially closing on Saturday 11th December 2010. Nevertheless next year is just by the corner and I shall connect back to you when the office resumes on the 4th of January 2011.

One remarkable thing has happened which I feel you should know about, the Sharing Education and Learning for Life (SELL) website will be a year old in January. With the much that has been happening to it I was just saying is it only 12 months old? It seems like 2 or may be 3 years, many thanks to a friend of the SELL programme Sarah who is helping us greatly with fixing of the website. Thanks to you our reader for being with us in this journey, we can do more together in the coming year. Your comments on any of our articles or session on the web is welcomed and you can send it to us through our email sharingedlearning4life@yahoo.com.

Last week, Rev. Fr. Martin Smith a priest of the St. Patrick’s Missionary Society SPMS and also the editor of the SPMS magazine called ‘Africa’ came to Nigeria and visited our centre we had some good photos with him for the Africa magazine. He has gone to other parts of the country for visit and photos as he returns to Ireland at the end of this year we wish him safe journey.

To end this year two teams in Nigeria are going out for workshop at two different places. Jonathan is going with Mary James to meet Daniel one of the SELL provincial trainees  at Tudun Wada Malima a district in Tafawa Balewa local government, Bauchi state Nigeria. Jonathan will mentor Mary James and Daniel as they deliver the Leadership unit of the SELL programme. The second team is Moses and James, they duo will be going to Jimpi also a district in Toro Local government of Bauchi state to also deliver the personal Growth unit of the SELL programme. I wish them all good luck in the work.

Last weekend, Leo travelled to Ghana and he is going to us the opportunity to give workshop to the group whom we started working with in August. The unit he is going to deliver alongside 3 Ghanaian trainees John Evans, Hagar and Vincent is the Leadership unit of the SELL programme at the Sacred Heart parish Akatago in Kumasi region of Ghana we hope that it will be a success too.

Our programme brochure for 2011is out and is available to you on our website.

It’s always hard to say goodbye, I am not saying it but see you next year. Happy New Year!!!

Maria

For the SELL Team.
