SELL NIGERIA:  SELL FOUNDATION NIGERIA ORGANISE A CULTURAL EVENT FOR THE IDPS IN JABI LAMBA, ADMAWA STATE

Sharing Education and Learning for Life Foundation organized a programme for the internal displaced persons of Salama Estate and the host community in Jabi Lamba. The event which was held on the 27th May 2023 at their camp featured series of activities, cultural diversity novelty football match, talks among others.
The event provided them with the opportunity to come together and engage with each other on a social and cultural level through music, dance and sharing of native food which showcased the rich cultural heritage of the different languages in the camp and the host community.

​Speaking during the event the guest speaker, Dr Agoso Bamaiyi stated that cultural diversity is one of the fundamental ways to promoting social cohesion. He called on the people of Jabi lamba to embrace peace for the unity and development of the community.
Correspondingly, SELL team appreciated the management of the camp for making the event a distinctive one and called on the IDPs and the host community especially the young people to avoid anything that will have an effect on the peaceful coexistence of the community.

SELL CONDUCTS TRAINING ON CHILD SAFEGUARDING POLICY, ANIMAL REARING, ALTERNATIVE COOKING IN JOS, BAUCHI

​SELL Foundation Nigeria conducted training on child safeguarding policy, animal rearing and alternative cooking method in Jos and Bauchi States respectively. The training which took place concurrently both in Jos and Bauchi states aimed at providing the participants with the necessary skills on relevant policies as well as different source of cooking energy.
​
In the same vein, as way of economic empowerment, SELL Foundation distributed Small ruminant Animal to its volunteers and other items distributed were Wastebins, Solar Lantern, Trees to organizations, places of worship among others.

​The training brought together participants from different youth groups, organizations and took place at the Sacred Heart Pastoral centre Jos and SELL Foundation Office Bauchi from the 8th -9th 2023

SELL FOUNDATION NIGERIA MARK ITS 10TH ANNUAL GENERAL REFLECTION
​

Sharing Education and Learning for Life Foundation marked its 10th Annual General Reflection (AGR) with the theme: Promoting Human Rights and Safe Environment through Policy Influence and Implementation: A Call for Action.
​

The event which took place from the 4th - 7th July, 2023 at SELL Foundation office in Bauchi brought together SELL volunteers across the North East and Plateau State Nigeria. It featured key activities like Business meeting, presentation of impact stories, SELL journey, talk and learning visit.

​The Annual General Reflection serves as a platform for SELL to brainstorm and evaluate its impacts. The programme also provided the participants avenue to reflect on the SELL journey since inception, achievements, growth, challenges and the way forward.

Comrade Steven Aluko-Daniel, the guest speaker talked on the theme of the AGR; he said most times policies failed due to lack of involvement during the process of formulation.  Comrade Steve made a clarion call to the participants’ to always get involved in policy making and ensure its implementation for the good of their community.

After the talk, the 2023 AGR participants proceeded to Tafawa Balewa Tomb for a learning visit.

SELL TEAM ON A LEARNING VISIT TO SIR ABUBAKAR TAFAWA BALEWA TOMB (MAUSOLEUM)
​

​The participants at the 2023 Annual General Reflection (AGR) went on a learning visit to the tomb of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa in Bauchi State, Nigeria. Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa is the first Nigerian Prime Minister and one of the leaders that fought for the independence of Nigerian from British colonial rule in the year 1960 before his assassination during the 1966 military coup.

The purpose of the visit is to learn the history of Sir Tafawa Balewa, his life, leadership, political ideology and enduring legacy. The participants had chance to go round the beautiful landscape adorned with beautiful architectural work where they were taking through by the orators on the history, leadership and death of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
