Workshops in Chiwavi and Katoto Communities
On the 10th to 12th of March the SELL Programme Malawi visited Chiwavi and Katoto communities in Mzuzu for a workshop on the leadership unit. Taonga amd Tommy were the two Resource Persons that represented Sell Programme Malawi at Katoto community, while Isaac and Noel were at Chiwavi community.
On17th of October, the SELL programme Malawi conducted a leadership unit with the students of Lusekelo school of computing at the Ungweru compound. Two Resource Persons from Sell Programme Malawi Isaac and Taonga were there to help the four facilitators at Ungweru to present the unit. The youths enjoyed the programme as they had a chance to recognize their leadership styles.
Two Resource Persons from Sell Programme Malawi Taonga and Leo visited Nkhata-bay district for a step down workshop on leadership which was also a platform to mentor four SELL facilitators in Nkhata-bay.
The workshop was conducted from 24th to 26th March 2023 and was hosted at Pastoral Center hall. The workshop attracted 54 young adults from the district and four SELL facilitators based in Nkhata-bay facilitated it while two Sell resource persons mentored them.
On the 25th of March 2023, two facilitators from Mzimba community Lusungu and Veronica conducted a step down workshop in one of the zones in Mzimba district at Kanyerere community. In attendance were 44 young people who were very much interested in the programme and were looking forward to the presentations of the other units.
Two stepdown workshops on leadership took place on the weekend of 31st of March to 2nd of April 2023 in Katete and Edingeni communities. Katete community comprised of 64 participants from 8 zones namely Khorwa, Lojwa, Chizani, Phembe, Kasambakholi, kamatawo and katete while Edingeni community comprised of 20 participants from Embangweni community and Edingeni community itself. Leo together with Taonga from the resource team were at Katete as mentors, while Tommy and Isaac went to Edingeni. Again there was an opportunity to mentor the two teams of trainee facilitators from both communities.
