Hello friends, we are happy to give you updates on our activities here in Ghana. Last weekend (27th to 29th May, 2016) in Tamale, Leo and Vincent of the SELL Resource Team worked with 41 young adults. 20 of these young adults were from three tertiary Institutions namely; Bagabaga College of Education, Tamale College of Education and Tamale Polytechnic . 7 were from Tamale Senior High school and the remainder (14) from the local community and Saints Peter and Paul parish youth of Tamale. It was very encouraging to see diverse group of young people working together in small groups, learning and sharing their experiences together in an atmosphere of respect for the dignity of each other. The Resource persons together with the participants explored Transactional Analysis, JOHARI'S Window, Sexuality and Sexual Health, Identity as well as Relationship and friendship, all of the Self Awareness unit of the SELL Programme. On the Sunday after the Workshop, the Resource Team paid an advocacy visit to Yendi, a town in the Northern Region of Ghana to meet some stakeholders in youth development. We were very privileged to have met Fr. Tommy, the Vicar General of the Yendi Dioceses. We stayed at the Presentation Brothers Community house in Yendi on the Sunday . When Team was traveling back to on the Monday to the SELL Resource Centre, we stopped at Nazareth Home of God’s Children, an orphanage home in a village community called Sang on the Tamale-Yendi road. The Resource Team is very grateful to all who support our work in various forms, to reach the many young adults who needs our support. We will keep you updated.
Here on the blog we’ll be keeping you up to date with the work we have been doing, particularly the workshops we have been running. We would also like to get comments and feedback from you, particularly if you have attended one of our workshops.
