Hi Friends!!!
It is with great joy that we come your way once again with updates on our activities.
We are delighted to share with you that the volunteers (trainees) of the SELL Programme in both Tamale and Navrongo Bolgatanga zones who were trained at the very beginning of this year are out on the field, in the local communities with the support of a mentor from the SELL Resource Team are delivering workshops on the Self – Awareness Unit of the SELL Programme on which their training was based.
From the mid of February to the end of March, volunteers in both zones (Tamale and Navrongo/Bolgatanga) have reached a total of 212 young adults in their local communities. They are doing a great work and we would want to congratulate them for all their efforts and selfless dedication towards sharing in the vision of the Programme that is to build young people with compassionate hearts building peaceful communities. For volunteers yet to deliver workshops in their locality, we encourage them to keep doing their best.
As well as mentoring volunteers on field, the Resource Team was at the University of Development Studies (UDS), Navrongo Campus from the 24th – 26th February to run a workshop with 20 young adult. The Community Building Unit of the Programme was explored with the students.
Again, as part of our outreach to the tertiary Institutions, the Programme received an invitation to deliver a workshop for the Bolgatanga Polytechnic at the end of March. Thirty –five (35) young adults took part in the workshop. The students in their evaluation expressed their desire to have the team come back again to explore other units of the programme with them.
The first quarter of the year has been successful and we hope it will even be better in the months ahead.
Our appreciation goes to our benefactors and all who support our work in various ways. As we approach the Easter celebration, we wish the best of the season and we hope to keep updating you on our work here in Ghana
