The need for Hausa component of the programme came after the SELL’S major evaluation in February 2014, External Evaluators were invited to perform the task. Most Respondents who were interviewed by the External Evaluators said the programme needs to get to the people in the grassroots in the language they will understand better. Here in the North-East of Nigeria where we work, one of the major languages spoken in the grassroots is the Hausa language. Responding to this major need, the Hausa facilitators training took place.
On the 3rd – 7th June 2015 fifteen young people came to the Youth Formation Centre Bauchi, Nigeria to experience the first training of SELL in Hausa. These young People came from Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi and Gombe States, three of the fifteen Participants came from Kebbi State, Nigeria
The training was on the Self Awareness unit of SELL and was co-facilitated by John Jiddere and Mr. Clement Mallam who came from Niger State, Nigeria. John, said the participant put in their best and responded well to the training. An action plan on how to step down the workshop was done by the trainees. We wish them every blessing as they prepare to deliver the programme in their various communities.
Still on training, a SELL training held in Kabba, Kogi State, Nigeria. The next blog you will read will be on the Kabba training. Kabba has a wonderful history with SELL which l also want to share with you.
